Informatique Banque Populaire

BPCE (Banque Populaire Caisse d’Epargne) is the second banking group in France and the first Bank in France for SMEs. Informatique Banque Populaire (i-BP) is the BPCE subsidiary responsible for building and maintaining the one information system of the 17 BP regional banks deployed in 17 different contexts, each of them having some specific parameters and processes. In addition, i-BP is responsible for security of banking applications used by its customers, both individuals and enterprises.

i-BP is represented by its security entity CESM (Centre d’Expertise en Sécurité Métier). The CESM has 40 security experts who participate in i-BP’s IT projects (more than 200 each year) in order to bring the right security level to the applications developed for its customers. In addition, the CESM is responsible for the fight against banking fraud (detection/anticipation, treatment, prevention). Finally, the third mission of the CESM is to identify and build IT innovations that makes security a business enabler for banking services.

The CESM’s missions allow it to have an in-depth knowledge of security challenges in banking applications and systems in a digital economy, given that these applications and systems are the central assets of a bank’s digital strategy, and the security inside these assets is critical to keep customers trust in their bank services.

CESM will contribute to the Open Banking demonstration use case.
