The Chair of Mobile Business and Multilateral Security (www.m-chair.de) is part of the Institute of Business Informatics at Goethe University Frankfurt (GUF). Enjoying endowment sponsorship by Deutsche Telekom the chair focuses its research on innovative mobile networks and their applications, as well as on related issues of privacy and security. Its mission is to find business models and technologies enabling the secure and privacy-enabled use of mobile devices and mobile communication for applications and businesses. The Forschungsstelle Datenschutz (Research Center for Data Protection [FSDS]) at GUF is engaged in research and consulting projects in the fields of data privacy, information regulation, IT security as well as the structure and regulation of the knowledge society, some in close cooperation with enterprises and/or other research institutions.

GUF, with its experience in successful coordination of EU projects, is the coordinator of the CyberSec4Europe project. In addition, GUF participates in all work packages. In particular, it leads the design of the governance structure and the assessment of the appropriateness of existing standardisation procedures for the cybersecurity goals. It will participate in the research and integration on cybersecurity enablers and underlying technologies, in usable security, regulatory sources for citizen-friendly goals, in continuous scouting and the impact on society. Then, it will participate in maintaining contacts with European standards developing organisations, certification, and all activities on concertation.
